WEAVERVILLE CSD LIFTS MANDATORY STAGE 3 WATER EMERGENCY RESTRICTIONS

WEAVERVILLE, CA — August 14, 2026 — The Weaverville Community Services District (CSD) announced today that the mandatory Stage 3 Water Emergency has been officially lifted for all customers in Weaverville, Douglas City, and Union Hill, effective immediately.  All temporary restrictions on water use have been removed.

The emergency was originally declared earlier this week following a mechanical failure involving critical raw water pumps at the Trinity River Plant. District crew and specialized repair technicians corrected the issue.  We have spent the last few days working diligently to safely restore the area's water supply.

With tank levels and operational infrastructure returning to normal parameters ahead of schedule, the district is pleased to welcome a return to business as usual.

"We are incredibly grateful to our community members for their swift cooperation and patience during this critical incident," said Tim Kasper, General Manager of the Weaverville CSD. "By complying with the emergency outdoor irrigation ban and scaling back indoor use, our customers directly prevented further system depletion. This team effort kept our water safe and ensured adequate supplies were maintained for local fire protection and sanitation."

While the total ban on outdoor irrigation is now dissolved, Weaverville CSD reminds residents that normal seasonal water conservation guidelines remain a best practice to ensure long-term grid health and reliability.
